Direct Filled Ball Pens are manufactured generally from plastic in different varieties to cope with demand of different classes of people. Majority of people in India like medium variety Ball pen. Plastics are accepted by engineers as important new materials. These are derived from petroleum oil, salt, air and water during the last 5 to 10 year considerable progress has been made in plastic moulding and extrusion. All the plastic moulding powdered composition can be classified into two groups. 1. Thermoplastics, 2. Thermosetting plastics, The plastic which becomes soft when heated and harden when cooled are thermoplastics. Since they under go basic chemical change during forming. These plastics can be softened and hardened again and again. Important members of this groups of plastics are polyethylene, cellulose, polyvinyl chloride. Where as thermosetting plastics set into permanent shape when heat and pressure are applied to them during materials-manufacturing. Phenol formaldehyde, urea formaldehyde are notable members  of this groups. A number of moulding techniques such  as compression moulding, injection moulding, blow  moulding and extrusion are in use to produce different kinds of plastics goods. In this report manufacture of direct filled ball pens made of plastics is given.
